At Sal’s, we really do specialize in all makes and models. In fact we have seen a variety of different vehicles come through our shop. Always looking better when we are done with them, of course! But what I wanted to focus this particular blog on was the high end or luxury vehicles we have worked on.
I mainly just wanted to make owners of these particular vehicles aware that we are more than equipped to handle their repair and refinish work. Luxury or high end vehicles currently make up a good percentage of our work flow.
From precision paint matching to quality body repair, Sal’s expertise in these departments is second to none in the industry. Sal and his team have the experience and the knowledge to deliver a luxury car repair that you will be more than satisfied with. We strive to always provide superior workmanship on all makes and models and hope that is evident to all of our customers.
We spend a lot of time focusing on how to have your vehicle repaired when you are filing a claim with an insurance company. While this is a good option, there are times when we are really just dealing with a minor dent or ding. And with most dents and dings we don’t know who or how they were caused. Sometimes with minor damage such as that we may consider paying for repairs out of pocket.
There are a couple of reasons that one may decide to pay for repairs themselves. The first is that the cost of repairs is less than your deductible. When you file an insurance claim you will always pay your deductible. So for example, if your deductible is $1000 and the cost of repairs is $950, you might as well not bother with filing the claim. You would have had to pay that amount regardless and now you have a claim on your record.
Which brings us to the next reason. Every insurance company is different and some may have different consequences for filing a claim. Sometimes filing a claim may result in a premium change. You should always check with your carrier on their/your policy limits and rules. This can factor into your decision as to how you would like to pay for repairs.
Here at Sal’s, we will gladly write you an estimate for customer pay repairs and we also work with all insurance companies. So we can assist you whichever way you decide, even if you are not sure, feel free to call us or stop in. We can discuss your options and help you to make the best decision to suit your needs.
I am sure we all have some minor dents and dings on our vehicle that we are just too busy to deal with or possibly debating on if we can live with them or not. Whether it be the car door that opened into yours, the pole that was just a little too close when backing up, or the scratch from your son’s bike, we can make the repair process easy and affordable for you.
Although we do work with all major insurance companies, you are our main priority. If you are not interested in filing a claim with your insurance company we completely understand. And we will do all we can to make the repair affordable. We have some great deals and would love to go over them for your vehicle specifically.
We also run specials practically year round. We are hoping to appeal to all types of customers in all different situations. We want to help save you money. So stop in so we can chat and show you what we have to offer, or call us at 623-236-8616 between 7 am and 5 pm. We would love to hear from you!
So today I decided to write a little about the process of taking your vehicle to our repair facility. I know that most people haven’t been in a car accident before and this entire process may be quite new. So I am here to let you know that we will do our best to make it as quick and painless as possible. Here is a little outline of how the process works once the accident has happened (and everyone is okay, of course :)).
** This post will be centered around filing a claim with your insurance company in the event that your vehicle is not safe to drive (this is recommended especially for large repairs).**
-Call the number on the back of your insurance card and file a claim . Keep this claim number handy. You will need it.
-If your vehicle is unsafe to drive have your insurance company arrange a tow truck and rental car (as long as your policy permits). The insurance company may recommend body shops to you but by law, you can take it to any shop you want. Let the insurance company know where to have your vehicle towed. (to Sal’s Auto Works, preferably :)) It is a good idea to call us or have the insurance company call us so we know your vehicle is on its way and can get the proper information.
-At this point, if you have rental on your policy, you should have your rental car. We will need a signed authorization from you. We can email it, fax it, or you can stop in to sign it. This will allow us to proceed with repairs once the insurance company approves payment.
-Every insurance company is a little different. Some will send their own adjuster to our shop to write a preliminary estimate and others will have us write the estimate and fax it to them for review. In some cases, we may have to begin dissassembly of the damaged area in order to get an accurate assessment of the repairs needed. We will work out all of these details for you.
-If you are filing a claim through YOUR OWN insurance, you are the insured. This means you will usually be responsible for your deductible even if you are not at fault. The insurance company usually pays for the repair cost only after the deductible is met. The most common deductible amounts are $250, $500, or $1000. Check with your insurance company to be sure of how much yours is. Once the accident happens, you cannot change the deductible amount.
-If the other person’s insurance is paying, you are the claimant. This means you will not be responsible for the deductible.
– Once we have a written authorization from you, the owner, as well as approval from the insurance company on their payment, we will order parts and start any repairs we can right away.
– We will keep you updated while your vehicle is here by phone or email and as often or as little as you would like.
-Once repairs are complete, we will call you and schedule a convenient time for you to come pick up your car. If you have a deductible, we will need to collect that at this time. We take cash, credit, or debit.
-If you have a rental, you will need to make arrangements with that company on how to return the vehicle. Most rental companies require the rental vehicle be returned when your vehicle is completer or perhaps by the end of the next day. It would depend on the company.
-Upon your arrival to our shop for pick up, we will have your vehicle ready, washed, and waiting for you. We offer a lifetime warranty on all insurance repairs and will gladly go over any questions you may have.
We understand nobody really wants to have to come to an auto body repair shop but in the event that you do, we hope we can be your shop of choice.
Customer service has always been an extremely important part of doing business. I mean it wouldn’t be much of a business without customers, right? So we do what we are supposed to do. We are professional and we always intend to make our customers happy. But what if we added a little something more to the mix?
What if we aim to create an “experience” for our customers. I mean we will always do our best to please them with the services we offer but who’s to say we can’t give them some good “old fashioned” customer service. Perhaps we can go back to the basics. We can put more focus on friendly yet professional greetings, genuine concern, and most of all a comfortable and positive environment.
Here at Sal’s we want to provide our customers with only the best quality auto repair and also the comfort of a team who is more than willing to help answer questions, go over insurance estimates, and also help set up tow trucks and rental cars.
We know that getting in an accident is a scary thing so if you need us to sit down with you and go over every detail, we can do that. If you are in a hurry and would prefer it be short and sweet, we can do that too. We understand people may handle this situation differently but we promise to do our best to help get you and your vehicle through it.
I have always lived in a big city with mega-stores on every corner. These kinds of stores are very convenient and make it easy to purchase a variety of items all at one location. Grocery stores such as Safeway and Fry’s sell much more than just food. And do we even need to go into all the services that a Walmart superstore or super target offer? You can have your nails done, grocery bought, see an eye doctor, and have your oil changed all in the same trip!
Although these chain stores do make things quite a bit easier for us at times, they have caused us to lose sight of the little guy/gal. I personally don’t have much experience with buying groceries from a local “market” or having your oil changed at Joe’s garage down the street. But that doesn’t stop me from thinking about how important these local businesses are not only to myself as a consumer but also the community .
I also wonder how the customer service experience would differ from that of a big-box store. I cant help but think that the stress levels of both employees and customers would go down. You probably wouldn’t have a mad rush of people waiting in line outside teh store before hours or huge over sized shopping carts going every which way Anybody who’s been to Sams club or IKEA on a weekend, knows what I am talking about. Although I cant imagine my life without a Safeway or even a Sam’s Club, I think it would be very beneficial if we could all support the small guy/gal a little more often.
Locally owned businesses also have more of that personal feel. Instead of being just another number coming through the door, I am an individual that very well could be your daughters 3rd grade teacher, or even your neighbor. And it is possible that we might even get to know each other a little or maybe even become friends all while I’m checking out at the market or having my car serviced at the garage.
I know that it is difficult to achieve this type of environment in a big city like phoenix but that doesn’t mean we cant try! 🙂 When Sal decided he was going to start his own repair shop, this is what he had in mind. He then assembled a group of people with a similar mindset to work for him. Everyone here has not only known each other for many years but we also consider each other friends.
Together we have created a work atmosphere that is both peaceful and energetic and we hope that our customers feel that from us as well. We are very hard workers and wont settle for less than the best in both quality and customer service and we care about the details of your experience with us and our shop. We not only want to be your choice for auto repair now and in the future but we also want you to feel comfortable with us and be able to come to us with questions and maybe even stop in to say hello.
We want to be your “friendly neighborhood” auto repair shop.
We are a brand new company and new to the area. Our team specializes in automotive repair and refinish. We are located in Peoria, Arizona. Please stop by anytime for an estimate free of charge or just give us a call if you have any questions. Hope everyone is staying cool during these hot days!
